Privacy policy.
GLT Solutions ("we", "us") provides web design, web hosting and digital marketing services. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights over it. It applies to gltsolutions.co.uk and to the services we provide to clients.
What we collect
- Contact details: name, email address and phone number when you enquire, order a service or open a support ticket.
- Account & billing data: the details needed to provide and invoice your services, including domain registrant information where required by registries.
- Technical data: IP addresses, browser type and server logs, collected automatically for security, fault diagnosis and capacity planning.
- Hosted content: data stored on our servers as part of your hosting service. You control this content; we process it only to provide the service.
How we use it
- To provide, bill and support the services you've ordered (performance of a contract).
- To keep our platform secure and reliable, including backups and abuse prevention (legitimate interest).
- To respond to enquiries and send service notices such as renewal and maintenance emails.
- To measure how the website is used, so we can improve it (legitimate interest, using the analytics cookies described below).
- To send occasional marketing about our own services, only where you've agreed. You can opt out at any time.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with suppliers needed to deliver services: domain registries and registrars, data-centre and CDN providers, payment processors, email platforms and Google Ireland Limited (website analytics), under contracts that limit use of the data, and with authorities where the law requires.
Storage & retention
Data is stored in UK data centres. Account and billing records are kept for as long as you hold services with us, then for up to six years to meet accounting and legal obligations. Backups of hosted content are retained on a rolling basis and expire automatically. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.
Cookies & analytics
Essential cookies. A small number of cookies are needed to run the site and the client area, including keeping you signed in and remembering whether you have chosen light or dark mode. These are set on our own domain and are required for the service to work.
Analytics cookies, only if you agree. Nothing is loaded from Google and no analytics cookie is set unless you choose "Accept analytics" on the cookie banner. If you choose "Essential only", no request is made to Google at all. We use Google Analytics 4 (property G-SHDFGMNDZ3, provided by Google Ireland Limited) to understand how the site is used, which pages are read and where visitors arrive from. It sets the cookies _ga and _ga_SHDFGMNDZ3, which last up to two years and hold a randomly generated identifier for your browser. Google Analytics truncates IP addresses before storing them, and we report only on aggregated figures. We do not use it for advertising or to build profiles, and we have not enabled Google Signals or ads personalisation.
Opting out. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings at any time, use Google's opt-out browser add-on, or browse in a private window. Blocking analytics cookies does not affect any part of the site.
We do not use advertising, retargeting or social-media tracking cookies.
You chose your cookie preferences when you first visited.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on it. Contact us at info@gltsolutions.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
